The gypsies have always been the outsiders of today’s society. Because of their nomadic lifestyle, criminal tendencies, loud music and so much more. For a significant part of modern history they were actively pushed outside of society due to their inability to be inside it.

 

This is why I decided I would take a deep dive in the gypsy ghettos and neighbourhoods of Bulgaria. 

 

I get the weird looks, I’m asked if I’m German, Spanish, English or American. I get asked why I’m there and what I’m doing.

Most of all, though, I get stared at. Because I’m the outsider.
